When I learned that "Photo! Editor" (PL2009) was written by Victor
Sazhin (VicMan Software) I able to find out that it was a new version of
"Photo Toolkit".

I'll keep telling you guys that the name of the author is *more*
important than the name of the program - the message may eventually get
through. ;)

I most heartily disagree.

The name of a program is often meaningless. When a name is meaningful
there are often programs with similar (or identical) names. To add to
the confusion program names are often changed by their authors.

The name of a program's author conveys meaningful information to those
who are familiar with the author's work. Amateurs say "I like this and
this and this book/play/movie/program" etc. etc. etc. Serious students
of an art say "I like (some/most/sll) of this author's productions".

It's easier to remember the name of an author than it is to remember all
the programs (s)he has written.

Robert Vasicek, Robin Keir, Sam Francke, David De Groot (Bluefive
software), Budy Setiawan Kusumah (BooZet), Andrew Lu (FastStone Soft),
Henk Hagedoorn (Freebyte), Nir Sofer (NirSoft), Mark Russinovich and
Bryce Cogswell (Microsoft (was) Sysinternals). . . Several pages
would be required to list all the programs by those authors.

Although it is meant for Win9x/Me/NT/2k, it works as advertised with
WinXp Sp2
