I just discovered a site that's offering free downloadable bible texts
as Adobe Acrobat pdf files or MS Word doc files:

(Please note the three I's in biiible. Be careful.)
They're just nicely-formatted text with no indexes, cross-references
or study tools, since the same website offers some of those online.
Search past messages here for plenty more texts and tools.

For what it's worth to scrupulous persons,
both the NIV and NASB versions (maybe others too; I dunno)
are copyrighted and AFAIK are not available for freebie
giveaway. All Bible sites and download sites I have found
before this one have had these Bibles for download, but they
expressly said up-front that such must be purchased to get a
a key to unlock the installation process.
