You've probably already found a solution, but if not...

I used WS_FTP Pro for years, but found that my old version had some
problems with directory listings. Rather than spend the money to
upgrade to a recent version I found the free Filezilla FTP client
(http://filezilla-project.org/). Works great! I like that it's under
very active development, it's very stable and bug-free as far as I can
tell.
