From: Mel Comisarow on 10 Jun 2010 20:45 I have long used Macromedia Freehand as my drawing program for my occasional drawing needs. I have the latest version, v 11.0.2, circa 2004, running well on my G5 w. Mac OS 10.5.8. I want to install Freehand 11.0.2 on my Intel Mac running Mac OS 10.6.3, and while the installation proceeds normally an attempt to load Freehand gives a bouncing icon on the dock, which after 6 or so bounces fades away. Is Freehand 11.0.2 incompatible with an Intel Mac (Mac Mini) running OS 10.6.3? Thanks.

Is Freehand 11.0.2 > incompatible with an Intel Mac (Mac Mini) running OS 10.6.3? Look into: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/504/cpsid_50468.html I really miss Freehand. Adobe should have killed Illustrator instead of Freehand. They still have to fix my account so I can register the software I legally purchased last year, so I doubt I will want to buy anything from Adobe soon.

While that's true, an attempt to launch a PPC program normally would give the user an explanation that the app requires Rosetta and allow him to proceed with the installation. -- Favorite yoga position: Rosh hashavasana, the high holy pose Mac and geek T-shirts & gifts <http://designsbymike.net/shop/mac.cgi> Prius shirts/bumper stickers <http://designsbymike.net/shop/prius.cgi>

The posting by JF Mezei pointed me to the solution. Thanks JFM. |
