I'm a big proponent of Microsoft Security Essentials. Currently running it on XP, Vista and Windows 7 without
issue. Others seem to think it's a very good (free) option:

Why would we care about an over 6-month old review unless you are offering
it for historical purposes? Look at the datestamp on that article. Notice
it was published back in Aug 24, 2009 (who knows how old is the data upon
which the article was founded).
