From: Glenda Copeland on 16 Jul 2010 22:38 What is a good complement to Windows Movie Maker on WinXP? My kid is having fun making movies out of three things he gathers together: 1. MP3 songs he offloads from his iPod 2. AVI videos he takes with his camera 3. JPG photos he snaps with the camera He uses Windows Movie Maker freeware and is doing OK but he's good with software so I figured I'd show him another complementary program or two. Of the available freeware programs out there for creating movies, what freeware would you recommend? Googling, I found: 1. Windows Live Movie Maker http://windowslive.com/desktop/moviemaker 2. VideoSpin freeware (http://www.downloadsquad.com/2008/02/09/videospin-free-video-editor-gives-windows-movie-maker-a-run-for/) 3. Avid FreeDV http://www.avid.com/freedv/ Are there other good freeware video editing programs that complement Windows Movie Maker - and which do you recommend?

Pretty much nothing beats Microsoft Windows Movie Maker in the freeware category for making movies out of pictures, songs, and videos.
