From: SACHIN DEVASSY on 29 Mar 2010 08:42 Hi I wanted to know how GA is able to maintain the population same after every generation . In the GA manual it was written for example, in case of single point crossover if parents are P1= [a b c d e f], P2= [1 2 3 4 5 6], and n=3 then the child is C=[a b c 4 5 6] This means that two parents combine to give a single child. Or is it that two children are formed one is C=[a b c 4 5 6], C2=[1 2 3 d e f]. Also i had a query about subpopulations . How do we know the number of sub populations created. I could not find any options for that . Thanks
