From: RG on 1 Feb 2010 12:06 Under user configuration's internet explorer maintenance, I enabled advanced. Under internet settings - advanced settings, I switched show http friedly error messages off. This works fine when a new user logs in. However, if I switch the same setting on, it stays on even if I log off and log back in. Is there a way to force this setting off even if it was switch on? Thanks in advance
From: Sergiy Grykshtas on 1 Feb 2010 15:23 the simpliest suggestion: the Pc should be restarted to apply this setting. to check this you can find the location of the registry value that this gpo setting is changing. though the "friendly" errors feature can be turned off by setting the value of the following registry key to no: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftInternet ExplorerMainFriendly http errors then just try to reboot and check. if this is the case - try to use gpupdate /force. I know there are some third-party tools, free, that integrate to users and groups mmc that allow to do it from this mmc. serggry ----- Original Message ----- From: "RG" <RG(a)discussions.microsoft.com> Newsgroups: microsoft.public.windows.server.general Sent: Monday, February 01, 2010 5:06 PM Subject: GPO > Under user configuration's internet explorer maintenance, I enabled > advanced. > Under internet settings - advanced settings, I switched show http friedly > error messages off. > > This works fine when a new user logs in.
