Hi,

I would like to see the Task Name column always while scrolling other
columns in the Gantt Chart. Something like Freeze Panes in microsoft excel.

Can I do that?
Is there any provision available in ms project for doing such things?

Right click on the top left square in the table. Choose More Tables > then
Edit the table in question which is most likely the Entry table.

Make sure that "Name" is in the first column, and select the option to Lock
the First Column.

Andrew's suggestion certainly works, but at the loss of the ID column being
fixed.

The alternative I use is instead of having a lot of columns, I create
different tables of columns so I just have to select the relevant table.
That minimizes the number of columns displayed and the need to scroll.

Of course sometimes you do need a lot of columns at the same time!

....or you create a custom text field to concatenate the ID and the name.....or
just go to Tools > Options and display the Outline numbers as part of the
Task Name.

Rod's idea is probably better though.
