From: Lono on 2 Aug 2010 22:33 Back in the old days (and I am VERY old), I used grease pencil on a plastic sheet to build Gantt Charts, and then moved up to Visicalc on an Apple II. Those tools are long gone, but a small project I'm trying to manage right now is getting complicated. I could put it up on today's Excel, I suppose, but is there an easy-to-use freeware project management tool? Thanks! Lono

Easy to use is pretty subjective but if you're used to managing GANTT's, take a look at > GanttProject is a cross-platform desktop tool for project scheduling > and management. Hi Lono, You could look at OpenProj is a free, open source desktop alternative to Microsoft Project. http://openproj.org/ Personally, I find these kind of tools very time consuming, and not very helpful. I use them occasionally, but for knockabout management I prefer *cough* Microsoft OneNote, post it notes, and lists. There are many freeware alternatives to OneNote. Craig mentioned a couple he uses to me, but I've forgotten <help>. They looked quite good. -- zakAT(a)pooh.the.cat - Sergeant Tech-Com, DN38416. Assigned to protect you.
