I suspect the really low budget manufacturers use a Chinese clone (e.g. the one on the Thomann site). I have had 4 or 5 of these cheapo nasties in now that needed replacement, with no visible signs of overdriving/burning etc, just a break in the continuity somewhere. Cheers, Gareth.
