Tried GlimmeBlocker and now I get this error message in Safari 4.0.4.

Error 102 (net::ERR_connection_refused): unknown error

"Safari cant connect to the proxy server.
Safari cant open the page
http://premiuma.accuweather.com/premium/enhanced-radar.asp because
Safari cant connect to the web proxy server (HTTP). To change your
proxy settings, open Safari Preferences, click Advanced, and then click
Change Settings. For help with this problem, contact your system
administrator."

affected Weathervane, MUMENU, gogglechrome and Seasonality but Firefox
and Mt and Mail are OK.

This with 10.6.2 Tried reinstalling the apps no go.

Weird any ideas?

Thanks

Bill

Something not configured right on your end. Were you using a proxy
prior to installing GlimmerBlocker?

Also just to see, open System Preferences -> GlimmerBlocker, select the
Setup tab and uncheck "Activate GlimmerBlocker" and see if that resolves
the problem. If it does then you have a misconfiguration in your
network settings somewhere.

Why bother with GlimmerBlocker when AdBlock for Safari is far superior
and does such a fantastic job?:

FSVO "superior" and "fantastic". Safari AdBlock is an Input Manager
hack. Input Managers were deprecated in 10.5 and are officially
unsupported in 10.6. There are workarounds but... if you need a
workaround then it isn't really superior or fantastic, no?

GlimmerBlocker works with any browser, not just Safari. I can have my
same filter rules for Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, whatever, and the
WebDAV publishing makes it easy to have my rules wherever I want them.
Because it is a stand alone proxy and not tied to any browser it won't
break when something changes underneath as with AdBlock on Snow Leopard.
