From: Archimedes Plutonium on
Global Warming in its simple form is merely using the air and
atmosphere we breathe
as a sewer dump. And with the ever increasing human overpopulation, we
add waste
of CO2 and poison into the air ever increasingly.

Anyone can do a simple experiment to simulate Global Warming by using
one's yard
as a trash dump. How long can anyone expect to get away with dumping
their trash
in their yard before it begins to destroy the owner? Not long at all.

So humanity has been trashing and polluting the Earth's air longer
than recorded history.
But there comes a time in passing with modern society and fossil
fueled machines
that trashing the air that life is dependent upon, catches up with the
polluters. Earth is
finite and can only hold so much CO2 and other pollutants before all
of life is affected.
We have reached that point in time where we must clean up our act. For
we do have the
potential to not only extinct many animal and plant species, but also,
in our carelessness
and hedonistic and uneducated practices, to extinct ourselves. People
commit suicide
all the time, and there is no reason to think that a species can
commit suicide on itself.

Global Warming is very real, and obviously true because it is obvious
the ice caps are
vanishing and the glaciers are vanishing and that the yearly average
temperature for the
world is rising. Only a fool denies the facts when given. Only a fool
cannot see what is
going on.

I regret myself for having lived in what is perhaps one of the
dirtiest polluted air we
breathe century. So dirty is our air we breathe that we have so many
air borne diseases
of respiration. We even have the highest concentration of mercury
compounds in the
air we breathe than of any time in recorded history, due mainly to
burning of coal. Mercury
is probably the main cause of Alzheimers and Autism and many other
diseases.

But let me get to the heart of this post of what I want to say
tonight. There appears to be
a pattern emerging as to what the affects of Global Warming will yield
if not stopped.

The obvious pattern starts with the melting of icecaps and glaciers.
So let me put that as
the number one starting symptoms:

(1) melting of the polar ice caps and the melting of all glaciers to
the point where Earth
has no permanent snow or ice cover.

Another pattern would be obvious in that with increasing global yearly
temperature must
have increasing bad and terrible weather such as hurricanes,
tornadoes. Let me list that
as number two.

(2) increasing bad horrible weather such as tornadoes and hurricanes.

But it is this third one that I do not think many have a conscious
awareness of and is
perhaps the most alarming and dangerous one if Global Warming is left
unchecked.
It comes to my attention because of the recent BP oil leak from their
offshore platform
in the Gulf of Mexico where oil is now very much polluting the ocean's
waters around
the world. But I do not mean a accident of an oil spill, but rather in
global warming,
the fossil fuels burnt make the oceans more acidic and make the oceans
too hot
for life to live. So the worst feature of Global Warming that scares
everyone, not just
those living on lowland islands with rising sealevel, but should scare
everyone, even
the most ardent pusher of oil and coal. Is the idea that Global
Warming, left unchecked
will kill all the life of plants and animals in the oceans, through
the combination of
acidity and too hot.

We already notice our fishing fleet stocks are vastly down compared to
a century
ago. We attribute this to the overfishing, but if Global Warming
continues unabetted,
then the animals and plants of the oceans are dying and extincting due
to acidity and
too hot of ocean water. We see it in the coral reefs.

Now I do not know, nor does anyone else, whether humanity can live if
the oceans
are dead. I would hazard to guess we can move on and through such a
tradegy, but
that all land animals and land plant life would be reduced if the
oceans were to become
dead waters. We are linked to the Oceans in so many ways, especially
the oxygen we
breathe, that if the oceans become dead waters, we are in a serious
predicament.

The BP spill gives us a forewarning, not from the oil as a poison in
the oceans but because
of the fossil fuels that heat up the ocean waters in Global Warming
and make the oceans
acidic.

Once we reach a point of acidity and hot water oceans, we may hit that
flashpoint where
most species in the oceans become extinct.

Now I am not an alarmist, but a solver of these problems. What I
propose is that we
immediately start to tap into Volcanoes for their electric geothermal
power. The Hawaii
volcanoes can easily support enough electricity stations to power most
of the USA
for all its energy needs. The only trouble is distribution, but that
can be solved because
when you think of it, the Hawaii Volcanoes are pertual fires to make
electricity. Or
tapp into Yellowstone or Mt. St. Helens and there are hundreds of
volcanoes around the
globe that can make electricity.

Volcanoes are clean and renewable and vast energy potential. Volcanoes
can easily
replace the entire coal, oil, and gas industries. About the only place
where we may
have to do some creative engineering is how to make airplanes run on
electricity. I wonder
if we can build battery operated airplanes? Sounds farfetched, but
innovations usually start with a farfetched notion.

Summary: If Global Warming is not attacked and abetted, its worst
effect maybe the
rendering of the Oceans as dead water to life. Where we killed the
life in the Oceans
by our fossil fuel dependency. What we should do is tapp into
Volcanoes to make
electricity so abundant that we make the fossil fuels obsolete.

P. S. in one of my previous posts I asked why the oceans would be more
vulnerable to
Global Warming than the land environment. One of the reasons is that
oceans easily
transmitt bad things to them, or spread the harm more easily than the
land. Another
reason is that Oceans have a tougher time of self cleansing bad
things. Land self
cleans by rainfall or wind which carries the harmful bad things away
and where does
it end up? Well it usually ends up in the oceans. So the Oceans are
the ultimate
waste dump. And that is what Global Warming is all about, the use of
the air as
a waste dump for CO2 and other bad things, which the Oceans would be
the
most affected.

So most people covering and watching Global Warming have theirs eyes
focused on
the melting ice caps and glaciers, the increase in bad weather of
tornadoes and hurricanes
and even the rise in sealevel in the near future, but few are
cognizant of perhaps the
worst horror in the sequence of events of Global Warming-- the dying
out of all the Ocean
waters of its life. Global Warming will make the oceans a dead water
zone.
