I honestly think that most people don't care.

As long as their computing platform executes the functions they care
about most, the rest is for academics. Look at BB's blatherings.
That's the majority.

One can never account for the behavior of the lowest common denominator.
Google is betting on it though.

John Corliss BS206. Because of all the Googlespam, I block all posts

posted through them.

No ad, CD, commercial, cripple, demo, nag, share, spy, time-limited,
trial or web wares OR warez for me, please. Adobe Flash sucks, DivX rules.

No, the web services are things like GoogleApps, Gmail, GoogleDocs, etc.
The proposed Google OS would be the software layer that runs on the
computer. It will be nothing more than a kernel and enough software to
give you a GUI, get you connected, and give you access to the web.

Might be idiocy to you, but it's what I've described, and I believe it
will be widely adopted. Conceptually similar to the iPad. It's the
"Internet appliance" that people have been trying to make a go of for
years. Functionality-wise, it's just a big-assed 3G web phone.

It happens.

Yeah, but remember, the Google OS will be Linux-based. You probably
won't be able to get connected.
