I'M DOING A SPREADSHEET AND WHEN I PUT DATES IN THE COLUMN IT AUTOMATICALLY

How could we be, if we don't even know what you're doing?

What *exactly* do you type and what appears in the cell?
Did you format the cells and if so, how?

Please don't type in all capitals. It is considered shouting.

You may be entering mm/dd/yyyy when your Excel is formatted for dd/mm/
yyyy (or vice versa). Thus when you enter 5/11/2010 thinking that is
is May 11 2010, the date as formatted shows up as Nov 5 2010.
