From: Barry Watzman on 17 Feb 2007 09:40 Just for the hell of it, I installed the HP 5470C scanner software under Vista (ultimate RC 2 build 5744). With a couple of prompts, it installed fine with no problems, and appeared to run. My initial attempts to actually do and save a scan failed when I tried to save the final scan, but after clicking on "run as administrator", even that ran fine. I did get some "script warnings", but they seemed to have no consequence when I simply ignored them. The installation package that I used was SJ668en.exe, 60 megabytes. I also applied XP Update, SJ667.exe (not sure if this is necessary, and it generated a warning). It SEEMS to be working with full functionality. I actually have the ADF installed (which technically makes this a 5490C rather than a 5470C), I didn't try the ADF but it's very likely to work.
From: Barry Watzman on 17 Feb 2007 09:47 By the way, I did this as an install under Vista itself, not as an upgrade to an XP installation.
