Hi,

Just purchased a sim-free HTC HD2 and I am experiencing many issues, with
the GPRS/EDGE dropping off, but the indicator on the phone indicates that
this is still active. Another anomolie is sometimes I can poll my POP
emails and Hotmail, but not the Stocks or Weather?

Anyone else experiencing this?

1. does the first happen when you don't access the net for more than a few
minutes? then, use vxUtil's Ping as has been explained in one of my
articles - see http://pocketpcmag.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=18563

2. this may be related to your provider's not allowing specific
connections.Dunno if Stocks / Weather uses a specific (non-HTTP) protocol;
if they do, this may be the cause fo rthe problem. Do you have problems
with acccessing the Web from your pda?

Hi Werner,

Many thanks for getting back to me.

1.I'll try the application and let you know what comes up.

2.As far as I know there are no restrictions, I'm with Orange in the UK.
Although they probably won't be able to help too much, since this handset is
not available for them, since I purchased it Sim-free. There is no issue
with connecting to the web, although sometimes it just cuts off for no
reason, but the phone still says there is an active connection.
