From: TPiezas on 27 Jun 2010 18:43 Hello all, A Haldeman-Ramanujan quintuplet {a,b,c,d,e} solves the system, a^2+b^2+c^2+d^2+e^2 = x^2 a^4+b^4+c^4+d^4+e^4 = y^4 The smallest is, 2^2+2^2+3^2+4^2+4^2 = 7^2 2^4+2^4+3^4+4^4+4^4 = 5^4 This in fact can be given a polynomial soln. It is also possible that a = 0, though only one is known. See June 23 updates at http://sites.google.com/site/tpiezas/updates06. - Titus |
