From: Hart on 23 Jul 2010 16:24 Hi, I just installed a new SBS 2008 on HP ML350 server. After the install, everything worked fine. I was able to connect USB drives, install a new DVD RW drive, etc. One point the system stopped responding, so I had to force it down and rebooted it "from last working config", since then I have been having a lot of issues with hardware drivers... The system started asking me to install drivers for USB-based devices, SATA DVD RW drive (the new one I installed earlier), and checking device manager, there are three "System Interrupt Controller" not working properly, and then three "unknown drivces". Precisely, it asks me to install drivers for: IDE Controller ATA Channel 0 ATA Channel 1 USB Receiver DVD RW I updated firmware from HP, so that may not be the issue. I also tried the new Microsoft Fix It Center, it found the problem, but could not fix it -- there should not be any driver required for all these USB/SATA or internal devices. Does anyone know what could be the cause and how to fix it? Thanks,

It sounds like it's what horked things up.
From: Hart on 27 Jul 2010 14:38 Well, it is really nothing to do with that DVD drive, since it is not the only one, and if I ignore the "install driver" message, I can still use the device. I can pretend not seeing any of those messages, and I do not see any problem using those devices, but the real pain is that if I want to add a new device, such as a USB device, it still asks for a driver, and if I refuse to do so, there is no way to use that new device.
