Yes, a long time ago.
I can do it with a Mac, so Linux is no different.
And a lot of my old files have been transferred and I can read them.
The old exe files aren't worth keeping.

I do it all the time. File formats are translated when you copy back and
forth. An MP3 on linux is no different than an MP3 on windows, only how
it is stored .
I like to use CrossFTP server on Windows and Gnomeftp on Linux.
I also use Teamviewer between Windows and Windows virtual machines on
Linux hosts.
