From: Colin Paul Gloster on 12 May 2010 08:15 Have any of you been spammed by Charles River Analytics Inc.? Could any of you suggest a suitable lawyer? An email attributed to Dirk Smith <dsmith(a)cra.com> dated May 6th, 2010 contained: |---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| |"[..] | | | |[..] | |[..] It would be helpful if you could | |answer these few questions: | | | |[..]" | |---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| I telephoned Charles River Analytics Inc. last week and I asked how the email address had been obtained. No attempt at an explanation has been received so far. It is hypocritical to want me to answer questions when not even a lone quetion from me has been answered. |---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| |"Thank you for your consideration. | | | | | | | |Dirk | | | | | | | | | | | |Dirk A. Remove or mung any personal information in the header if necessary. Why did you cross-post this to comp.lang.ada? I am posting this (my reply) to the usenet newsgroups - alt.spam - comp.lang.ada as well as e-mailing it to - Colin_Paul_Gloster(a)ACM.org - dsmith(a)cra.com If you wish to respond to this, post it to alt.spam. Do not e-mail (it will bounce).

Maybe this response is what was requested, maybe not. On average, I receive approximately two emails per week from the person who I work for. I have not received any emails from that employer this week, but I did receive five emails from that employer so far this month. CRA has emailed me more times this week than who I work for usually does in a week. Out of kindness to CRA or Dirk Smith of CRA, I send this now, despite having already explained when Dirk Smith telephoned me (which I acknowledge he did with an explanation for one of my concerns of the time) that I am busy this month and short on time, so I do not currently have the time to personally answer as much as I might later. Dirk Smith mentioned that he did not receive the voicemail which I recorded last week. I accpet that that is plausible: I recorded it on the general voicemail for Charles River Analytics instead of on an extension used exclusively by him. Despite sending me an email last week with "Ada" in the subject header, the body of the email was re C++. That would not be likely to garner support from me (he said that he found email addresses by using a search engine and searching for "Ada systems") nor on comp.lang.ada except from the likes of Dewar but he abandoned comp.lang.ada long ago. On account of producing a partial response in paragraphs above, I have not gotten round to compiling anything yet this morning and at least three days in the past month or so (including yesterday) I was working for more than ten hours in a single day without a lunch break and I need to get back to work if you do not mind. Yours sincerely, Colin Paul Gloster
