It just says 'error: Windows is updating new updates, please try again in a few minutes.' Its Code:80240016. But its been weeks and still no updates have been installed. Help please.

What year did your Windows 98 system stop getting updates and giving you that error? Please do so in your next reply. Is this a sudden, new problem? What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)? What third-party firewall (if any)? Has a(another) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on the computer (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought it)?
