From: tdmafort on 3 Jan 2010 01:19 I have a network set up with 2 pc's running xp home sp3 and a linksys router. The issue I am having is the main pc I use does not show anything in "my network places", the second pc has it's shared folder and the pc in the work group but doesnt show anything for pc1. I re-ran the network setup wizard but that didnt help. After reading other posts here I have tried using browstat status command but it just returns a command promp and no info. I reset the winsock and did a malware scan but nothing was found. I had this error in the event log: Event Type: Error Event Source: NetBT Event Category: None Event ID: 4311 Date: 1/2/2010 Time: 10:17:45 AM User: N/A Computer: BLACKFROG Description: Initialization failed because the driver device could not be created. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. I followed instructions and checked the registry keys and did what was suggested to fix it. Restarted the pc but still dont have anything in the network.
