I need to be able to add a specific comment onto a task so it show just like
it does in Excel. Notes in the task information box is not good enough.

Check out the text box options in the Drawing toolbar. That will add a comment
to the Gantt Chart.

Let me add to Andrews post-- When you are done creating the Text Box on the
Gantt chart, right click on it and select Properties. From there you can
force the box to attach itself to a specific date or task.

It is not possible to have a "Hover over me comment" like excel on the left
side of the Gantt. You'll have to use the Notes filed on the left side.
