From: Rob on 9 Apr 2010 16:01 I have a word 2003 document that I want to insert a hyperlink in. I want that hyperlink to go to a specific location within another Word 2003 document. There is a bookmark at that location; however, I can't figure out how to configure the hyperlink to get it to jump to that bookmark. For example, I want to jump to Chapter 4 of Document 1 (where I have a bookmark we'll call Chapter4). I create a hyperlink in Document 2 (Insert>Hyperlink) and browse to the path and filename of Document 1. After that, I'm stuck with what to do. Help says I can use a switch, like \l but I obviously have not been successful in formatting it correctly (and there are no help examples of using that switch). Please help and thanks.
From: Gertrude on 9 Apr 2010 16:47 Highlight the word in your document that you want to be hyperlinked. Select add hyperlink, when the box opens, select the document that you want to link to, then, should see on the right hand side a button called "bookmark" -- click on that button and a box will open with a list of all the bookmarks in the linked document, click on the bookmark you want to jump to. Click OK, then click OK again. The word in your original document should now be a hyperlink. Hold Ctrl and click the link to see if the document jumps to the correct place in your linked document. Good Luck. "Rob" wrote: > I have a word 2003 document that I want to insert a hyperlink in. I want > that hyperlink to go to a specific location within another Word 2003 > document.
