The problem is when I right click and delete the document, the document itself gets deleted (in other words, the shortcut really isn't a shortcut but the document itself that's showing up in the taskbar -- and no, the document isn't open). The cursor has to be in the leftmost part of the icon space for it to work else all you did was create another shortcut on the desktop. That was frustrating, but at least now that I discovered that thing through numerous trial and errors, it's gone. What a relief! Thanks.

I must have a wildly different setup or be misunderstanding something here - I don't get the option to delete when I right--click a document in the Task Bar, nor can I drag an entry there on to the desktop...!
