Somehow my WORD system/program started showing a redline with edit remarks to
the right side of the text whenever I tried to edit, such as, BOLD, DELETE,
ADD OR DELETE SPACES. I must have inadvertently turned that feature on, but
I don't know how . . . nor how to turn it off. Hellp will be appreciated

Word calls it "Track Changes". The keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+E
turns it on and off, which is probably how you turned it on by
mistake. There's also a menu item in Word 2003 or earlier (Tools >
Track Changes) or a button in Word 2007 (Review > Track Changes).

To learn more about it, including how to accept the changes you
already have so they turn into regular text, see
