From: Piyush Govil on 5 May 2010 02:59 Hi, I would like to know the way to embed a another document may be .pdf file into Word doc, which can be opened on click when word file is open at different place or PC. Now I am facing problem, when I convert my doc file into .pdf the embedded file shows as Icon and not a clickable embed file. Please let me know, how to achieve. Please let me know, this is urgent. Thanks in advance
From: DeanH on 5 May 2010 06:15 This is not a Word question but Acrobat. Anyway, I convert to Acrobat frequently and have not found any setting in Acrobat that does what you want. I have Pro 7 so am not sure about newer versions. I tend now not to embed files in Word files anymore due to this particluar problem and many others but if I must then I do the following to ensure that the embeded file is available in Acrobat. Open the PDF file in you Acrobat, go to the image of the file icon. Click on Comments, Commenting Tools, Attach a file as a comment. You should see a pin, click this near the icon image, the the browse dialog will open, select the file as required. The file will now be attached to the PDF. Obviously these instruction may be different for your version of Acrobat. Also, if you have many files embedded this can take some time. Hope this helps DeanH "Piyush Govil" wrote: > Hi, > > I would like to know the way to embed a another document may be .pdf file > into Word doc, which can be opened on click when word file is open at > different place or PC. > > Now I am facing problem, when I convert my doc file into .pdf the embedded > file shows as Icon and not a clickable embed file. > > Please let me know, how to achieve.
