Apparently my A650 got moisture-damaged so the PC board needs to be
replaced.

How hard is it to do this? Any give me instructions?

Thanks

It should just fall off. It's held in place by 3 plastic "latch" tabs
that hold the back cover. When the back cover is removed, the top
cover should pivot on some tabs in front and just fall off. There are
no screws holding it in place.

Thanks for your response Jeff, but nothing is falling off! :-)

So the 3 plastic latch tabs that were holding the back cover are part
of the front cover, not part of the chassis? The top edge of the
front cover is very tight and cannot be persuaded off, even though we
have the bottom loose.

Is the curved part on the front that covers the batteries (below the
zoom control) part of the front parnel, or is separate? Can't get
either one loose, separately or together. If separate, which comes
off first?

By the way, none of the buttons on the back panel are working. Also
the zoom control does not work, the camera automatically goes to 24X
zoom when turned on. The shutter usually does not work.

Any ideas? I assume the electronic module behind the back push
buttons is screwed, but would that mess up the zoom too? Anyway to
test this module? It looks fine, not corrosion, no apparent water
damage.

Thx.
