From: MicheleERS on 26 Apr 2010 12:56 How do I sync Outlook 2007 between a Windows XP Home PC and a Windows 7 Starter Netbook? I need the ability to choose which segments I want to sync (calendar and contacts) so it doesn't try to sync the email section. Thanks!
From: DL on 26 Apr 2010 14:40 Assuming you use popmail you would need a third party sync tool, Outlook itself has no native method of syncing between two PC's "MicheleERS" <MicheleERS(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:53B2CA55-FFD0-48EA-AC67-787EB6D02062(a)microsoft.com... > How do I sync Outlook 2007 between a Windows XP Home PC and a Windows 7 > Starter Netbook? From: Futurean on 27 Apr 2010 01:18 Hi there, You need to use an Outlook addin to do this. Check out CodeTwo Public Folders which enables syncing all Outlook items (including mail, contacts, tasks, documents and many more) between a number of machines equipped with Outlook. It's pretty easy and does not require a server machine. Here's a link to a 30-day, fully functional trial: http://www.codetwo.com/public-folders/ Take a look at the video first: http://www.codetwo.com/public-folders/video/ greetz MicheleERS wrote: > > How do I sync Outlook 2007 between a Windows XP Home PC and a Windows 7 > Starter Netbook? From: nancy0123 on 27 Apr 2010 03:01 Microsoft does a good job of making sure our options are limited when it comes to syncing email when using Outlook. As of now I am currently using my laptop for email and automatically syncing the PST to my desktop. Since I never use the desktop for email this is more like a backup than a sync. I too was searching for solutions to this. The best solution I could come up with without buying any software or getting any Exchange service was this: 1. Switch my email server from POP/SMTP to IMAP so that both computers will have the same inbox. 2. Create another local PST for all old mail and have that automatically sync to my desktop. A possible drawback to this is that I dont believe that standard IMAP will sync my calendar and contacts which is a bummer. I am trying my best to find a solution for all this syncing without an Exchange server but Microsoft is making it real difficult for me.
