Blanket filtering posts from google groups is stupid. There are many non-spammers using google for posting, such as our friend DS here. I use individual.net, and they seem to get rid of all the spam somehow. Well worth the 10 euros per year they charge. -- Mns Rullgrd mans(a)mansr.com

And if some of those GG posts is indeed interesting, someone replies with a quote, and I get it too. Google Groups just seems to be a major source for spam, and this works for me, until I figure out a better way. Like a SpamAssassin for usenet. Google Groups is a wonderful archive, but a bloody terrible interface for forums (like mailing lists or Usenet). Worse, they don't even provide a standard NNTP service. Best to avoid it. > How can you guys filter out all the spam threads? I am curious. Don't use Google Groups. Instead, install a proper Usenet (NNTP) client, and access Usenet via a decent Usenet provider (my ISP provides Usenet service over NNTP — pressure yours to do the same). -- \ “When in doubt tell the truth.
