From: Jack on 24 Jun 2010 03:18 Dear all, I installed Hyper-V 2008 R2 and virtualized SBS2008 and Win7 on top. I did all of these thru a physical Vista machine. Now I will have to remove Vista. How can I start Win7 VM from within Hyper-V 2008 R2? I believe there must be some command line commands to do this. Does any one know where I should go to find all the commands that are used to manage VM from within Hyper-V server? I just couldn't find it anywhere online. Thanks for the help! j~
From: Cliff Galiher - MVP on 24 Jun 2010 04:48 Hyper-V Server does not have any official interface for administrating VMs. Part of it being "free" it is bare-bones and is expected to be run in an environment where it can be administered remotely. With that said, if you go to the CodePlex website and search on Hyper-V, there are some great developers there that have created their own tools that can be run locally. They are 3rd-party and not MS supported, but the contributors are good at keeping them up to date and they'll get you by until you can get a good win7 machine set up. -- Cliff Galiher Microsoft has opened the Small Business Server forum on Technet!
