Why don't you try "slackpkg install-new" ? That will give you a list where you can pick what you think you need. Michel.

But I want to refresh my memory ;-) Basically I was adding packages from ./x/ as required by xinit. Now I can run "xorg -configure" and "X -config /root/xorg.conf.new" which breaks at (EE) Error compiling keymap (server-0) (EE) XKB: Couldn't compile keymap XKB: Failed to compile keymap Keyboard initialization failed. This could be a missing or incorrect setup of xkeyboard-config. I have the package xkeyboard-config but haven't run it beforehand or configured it for my keyboard. Any idea? Arun
