From: DJFLASH66 on 31 Mar 2010 12:18 I tried all sort of G120's and did no like the response time. I mean they are great and work fine but bulky and sort of slow. I looked around at a bunch of stuff coming out of China and they worked well but only for a short period of time then they sort of poop out and die lol...costly! The reason I started to look at these things is a friend of mine just got me into lasers. I have been an electrical engineer for years and a DJ on the side. One of my aspirations was to build my own projector. Now I do not have the mula for a new 1/4 or even 1/2 watt diode but I was able to get a Reliant 250M. It was out of an old Mobolaser unit and I finally got it to run after a few days of pulling my hair out and backwards engineering it to trouble shoot it. Lol it turned out to be an opto blown. I will have to beam mix using a 250 mw red but I was able to get my greens and blues now at around 250mw. I also picked up an old pangolin system. Right now it is in pieces but give me time I will have it worked out soon. One of my questions is before I start buying stuff for my new / old projector is: Has anyone used the Skyscan? I heard it has even a faster smaller mini type of scanner block in it. I found it here: www.minilaserscaner.com Please let me know if you have used one of these projectors. I may go that way instead.

If DJ flash is who I think he is, he's following me from the laser show on line community where he was banned for antisocial behavior and being downright dangerous with high powered lasers. He was reported to the US government for doing unsafe scanning of the audience and doing high powered laser shows without the needed federal permits. Here he is hiding under a different name. Despite being a EE student (So he claims, we could not verify that fact) He can't do his own engineering, cannot digest data sheets, so he begs for any info he can get. G120s are outdated galvanometer scanner servo systems used to deflect the beam to generate graphics and beam effects in laser shows. Basically they can move a 3 mm by 5 mm mirror within a DC to 3.5 Khz bandwidth over a 20' mechanical angle. So DJ Flash, are you DJ Allen or NOT? If your not Allen mea culpa, but being probably one of only two people on Sci.Engineering.Design group who even knows what a Reliant laser and Pangolin Software are, I'm not talking. If you are ALLEN, every time someone helps you further your business, you place the public at risk. .. Allen thinks nothing of misusing dangerous QSwitched laser light, ie very short 7 nanosecond high peak power pulses and 40-60 watts of average power. He buys used medical lasers for misuse. Ie Rich kid who has delusions and does not know what he is doing. If anyone doubts this, I will link the Photon Lexicon thread here... Steve |
