Maybe the poster at the top of this thread is a known troller; if that is so then why not read between the lines for what he says of himself? If you don't want to get into that just don't post. My own personal experience includes years of hospital and shelter volunteer work so most of what upsets people is boring to me. Which brings me around to *my* core topic. Namely, a lot has happened since I was a user of MIT ITS and the protocols to work there were simple; immense elaboration has developed since and I don't see much improvement in it. So the reference to Borland Pascal and since I'm impressed these days with so many people not writing source, I thought I'd jump in and say a thing or two. So here I am in alt.os.linux.slackware, lurking and speaking up from time to time. Titeotwawki -- mha [2010 Jan 08]

Rob Cypher, who doesn't like alt.slack replied to the post and crossposted it to 4 other newsgroups, including alt.os.linux.slackware. He's a real putz and does these things just to stir up trouble.

Very few computer users write scripts, let alone anything that needs compiling. Very few people even use macros. Pete -- http://www.petezilla.co.uk
