Do you know why hummingbirds hum?

They don't know the words.

It is not unusual for a bird to die from crashing into a glass window.
The most common reasons are that the bird sees its reflection and thinks
that another bird is infringing on its territory or it sees something
through a window that it wants and doesn't detect the presence of the
glass--a good rationale for leaving windows dirty.

Incidentally, a few days ago while eating supper we heard a thump and my
wife said it sounded like a bird had flown into a window. The next
morning she found a dead bird on the ground beneath that window.
