From: ~*Laughingstar*~ on 10 Aug 2010 16:29 I don't know how to describe this, but in short, I have to bring up my Task Manager, and once I dc IE all of OE shuts down, too - including the email being composed. If I 'Send a Link' from IE via OE, and then go 'look' at something else (read an email, for example) all of a sudden I cannot close IE, and I cannot save the email I have been composing which is usually an important one, of course. Any help, please! Using IE7, and 'on' is MS Security Essentials, Secunia, and Windows Washer, with 38% capacity remaining. Everything's updated weekly. -- NJ State Dept of Health Polio Warning Wallet Card http://pnnj.org/anesthesia/Anesthesia-Warning-Card.pdf (please pass on)
From: Bill in Co on 10 Aug 2010 17:32 Have you considered using System Restore to roll back to before this problem surfaced? (assuming it wasn't too long ago, and if you know the approx date, you could go back a bit further just to play it safe. Of course, anything installed since then would need to be reinstalled). ~*Laughingstar*~ wrote: > I don't know how to describe this, but in short, I have to bring up my > Task > Manager, and once I dc IE all of OE shuts down, too - including the email > being composed. > > If I 'Send a Link' from IE via OE, and then go 'look' at something else > (read an email, for example) all of a sudden I cannot close IE, and I > cannot > save the email I have been composing which is usually an important one, of > course. > > Any help, please! > > Using IE7, and 'on' is MS Security Essentials, Secunia, and Windows > Washer, > with 38% capacity remaining. I don't install programs frequently, if that is what would 'need be be reinstalled.' I can do that, sure, but what on earth is this? >> >> ~*Laughingstar*~ wrote: >>> I don't know how to describe this, but in short, I have to bring up >>> my Task >>> Manager, and once I dc IE all of OE shuts down, too - including the >>> email being composed. >>> >>> If I 'Send a Link' from IE via OE, and then go 'look' at something >>> else (read an email, for example) all of a sudden I cannot close >>> IE, and I cannot >>> save the email I have been composing which is usually an important >>> one, of course. >>> >>> Any help, please! >>> >>> Using IE7, and 'on' is MS Security Essentials, Secunia, and Windows >>> Washer, >>> with 38% capacity remaining. From: PA Bear [MS MVP] on 10 Aug 2010 18:19 Uninstall (Webroot) Window Washer, reboot & test. I can guarantee you that Microsoft Security Essentials & Window Washer do NOT play nicely together and that may be related to your IE7 & OE issues.
