Sees the XP boot screen and windows loading stuff, then stop c0000221 Unknown Hard Error \SystemRoot\system32\ntdll.dll The MS advisory is to reinstall Windows XP, so I figured that the Recovery CD was probably the easiest*. *This being a gift computer that landed in my lap earlier today and it being almost certain the giver doesn't have the CD. I have a 7 meg recovery console boot-up ISO. There is a link for this item: http://www.thecomputerparamedic.com/files/rc.iso * Now burn this ISO image to a CD and boot your computer with it. * Once the CD is created, place it in the defunct computer * Then reboot your broken PC with that CD in the CD-ROM drive. * Make sure the PC is set to run from the CD as the primary boot device. * When the PC boots, it will boot from the CD...after the first several screens load, you will be given a choice to choose R for Recovery Console. You will be asked to log in. source: http://www.computing.net/answers/windows-xp/xp-pro-repair-feature-on-media-cent/160357.html
