I'm trying to find a freeware program that can easily convert
protected itunes movie to
standard DVD format. Seams all the tutes I run into on search require
payware/trailware and sometimes 2 programs to go from a to b.(b being
burning to playable dvd)

Would be nice to find "one" "free" program that does it all.

There are a bunch long discussion about this over at Videohelp.com

Here's one...

The basic problem is that something has to break the copy-protection
first (which is illegal in the US and many other places).

Yea I see what your saying, but I paid for the movie...

so why shouldn't I be able to watch it on my TV?

You didn't "pay for the movie." You paid for the right to watch the
movie on iTunes and Apple equipment like iPods, iPhones, and iPads
(read the agreement they presented and you agreed to). You can use
the video-out on your computer to watch on TV because you're still
running iTunes but they won't let you do anything else with it. I'm
sure they would love to remove the "burn a cd" option for music.

Personally, I don't buy movies of iTunes (and try to avoid buying
music from them) because of the DRM and all the issues that it causes.

Since nobody has come forward here with suggestions and nobody has
come forward on videohelp with freeware then it's possible that nobody
is willing to create freeware that risks a costly lawsuit from Apple.
The thing you're looking for just might not exist.
