Or move the downloads somewhere useful, like the Desktop, where they can
be seen. All the apps have preferences for that.

It looked like Downloads is where they attempt to install .exe file. So
I went ahead with trashing it. But all kinds of things were affected,
even the battery charge percentage display.

How do I just trash collecting junk?
