Hello,

I'm trying to use an AVT Pike Camera with the Image Acquisition Toolbox on 64bit machine with a 64bit matlab r2010a.

Everything was going fine on an 32 bit machine by using the CMU DCAM driver. Unfortunately it seems that this driver doesn't support 64bit architectures. I was wondering if anyone had a solution to propose.

Thank you for your attention,

Hi Scott,
The CMU DCAM Drivers are not available for 64-bit platforms. However, AVT appears to be coming out with their own adaptors for the Image Acquisition Toolbox. The following link looks promising:

Hello,

The AVT MATLAB Adaptor (working with AVT FireWire and GigE cameras), will be available within some weeks, but only for 32-bit systems. Then we will wait until the next underlying driver is available for 64 bit before developing a 64-bit version of the AVT MATLAB Adaptor. I think the 64-bit version will be available at about end of this year.

In the meanwhile, is it possible to recompile the cmu dcam adaptor on a 64bit machine, since the source code is available?

Our ActiveDcam SDK works on Windows 64-bit platforms and provide a full bridge between DCAM-compliant cameras and Matlab. It does not require the Image Acquisition Toolbox or Image Processing Toolbox to run. The demo-version is available here:
