"similarity" can be defined many different ways. Which pair of pictures is more "similar"? A) Telescope pictures of two different bar galaxies of similar size and composition; or B) A picture of the Eiffel tower at noon compared to a picture of the Eiffel tower taken from the same location and angle at midnight ? Pair (A) will have far more pixels that are the same (or very close to each other), but pair (B) has the same size and structure but with very different color and lighting. Arguments could thus be made for either pair to be more "similar".

From: ImageAnalyst on 7 Jul 2010 07:17 I think Walter's answer would be the same. Maybe you can post two images and say what kind of number you'd like to get and how that might be determined, as there are hundreds of ways.
