From: VerlSnake on 16 Jul 2008 19:43 In the standard Director 11 installation, I can figure out only one way to get external 3D content into it: Import via the Shockwave 3D .w3d format. Are there Xtras for importing other 3D formats, e.g. the .dae Collada format ?

Are there > Xtras for importing other 3D formats, e.g. the .dae Collada format ? Director 8.5 to 11 only support Shockwave 3D w3d. So, there is no other format that can be imported into Director. There are tools to convert different 3D formats to Shockwave 3D. Take a look at: Sw3dC - W3D Converter - http://www.eee-craft.com/sw3dc/ Free tool that converts to Shockwave 3D. It actually is a projector that uses the awaW3DTrans Xtra, which is not free: http://www.eee-craft.com/director/awaW3DTrans/ On Windows, you can use the 3D SpeedPort Xtra to convert OBJ files to w3d. http://www.adobe.com/support/director/work_3d/using_the_obj_converter/ regards Dean Director Lecturer / Consultant / Director Enthusiast http://www.deansdirectortutorials.com/ http://www.multimediacreative.com.au email: d.utian(a)unsw.edu.au
