From: Shuggles on 23 Mar 2010 13:12 Aren't the right and left indent markers supposed to mirror one another, i.e. both have a moveable top and bottom part? Or am I just plain crazy?! Thanks
From: vttotal on 23 Mar 2010 13:32 Are you talking about the command buttons on the tab? You are right, they are supposed to mirror each other. Which Office version do you have installed? Are you saying that those buttons are moving up and down? Can you expand Thanks, -- Vicente Tulliano "Shuggles" wrote: > Aren't the right and left indent markers supposed to mirror one another, i.e. > both have a moveable top and bottom part? From: Shuggles on 23 Mar 2010 13:50 I don't know what you mean by "command buttons on the tab!" :-) Sorry, I should have indicated we are using Word 2003. I'm talking about the indent markers on the ruler. (Guess I wasn't very clear at all!) One of extreme left and one on extreme right. The one on the left is an inverted triangle on top of an upright triangle, on top of a box. (These are very small and that's the best I can do to describe them.) Sure wish I could stick a SnagIt capture in here! So, if I've explained it a little better and you know what I'm talking about now, should the the right marker mirror the left? Thanks for your help "vttotal" wrote: > Are you talking about the command buttons on the tab? You are right, they are > supposed to mirror each other. From: Suzanne S. Barnhill on 23 Mar 2010 13:54 You're just plain crazy. <g> The right marker is only for a right indent; you can't have first-line or hanging indents on the right side, so there's no need for a top part to the marker. That said, I won't swear that the marker wasn't displayed differently in some earlier version. -- Suzanne S. And all these years, I denied being crazy! I did go home at lunch and checked my Word 2007 there and saw the same thing as with Word 2003 here at work so I knew I was crazy before you told me ;-). You know how it is sometimes when something you see every day, sometimes even several times per day, all of a sudden just doesn't look right? That's my explanation and I feel it is real and justified, therefore I'm not crazy; just nuts! Thanks Suzanne "Suzanne S.
