From: Sierra Information Services on 16 Mar 2010 14:21 Hi...can someone help me with the following query I just received? Thanks in advance... The question is: Can I install 32-bit SAS on my 64-bit machine or is there a 64-bit version that I need to get? Andrew Karp Sierra Information Services http://www.sierrainformation.com PS. I am also cross-posting this to the SAS consultants list.
From: Steve James on 16 Mar 2010 17:29 Yes, you can run 32-bit SAS on a 64-bit machine and yes, there's a 64- bit SAS that you can run as well. I don't know about installing just a 32-bit version on a 64-bit machine. I installed the 64-bit version on my machine and then came back later and installed the 32-bit version. I don't believe it asked me for a path to install either version. The 32-bit version is stored under "C:\Program Files\SAS\SASFoundation\9.2(32-bit)" while the 64- bit version is installed in "C:\Program Files\SAS\SASFoundation \9.2".
