From: msnews.microsoft.com on 14 Apr 2006 12:07 Yes, when I go to install IIS after method 2 and point to the integrated directory I created c:\winxp (and c:\winxp\i386) to find staxmen.dll (and all the others) I get the same error massage as it found STAXMEM.DL_ instead. I just gave up there as I figured it would error out on all the other files as well. Ok, I agree it's weird, but is there a fix short of starting from scratch with a format and reinstall? Why is the file STAXMEM.DL_ instead if just STAXMEM.DLL? However, it is STAXMEM.DLL in the original directory and still errors out. Is the installer corrupted such that it can't read it? Is there a fix? Thanks "Bernard Cheah [MVP]" <qbernard(a)hotmail.com.discuss> wrote in message news:eyTAWN3XGHA.2208(a)TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > You still got prompt when you point it to the integrated XP installation > folder? > This is werid ! > > -- > Regards, > Bernard Cheah > http://www.iis-resources.com/ > http://www.iiswebcastseries.com/ > http://msmvps.com/blogs/bernard/ > > > "msnews.microsoft.com" <KennyGK(a)hotmail.com> wrote in message > news:%233mo9B1XGHA.1204(a)TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... >> PS: I forgot to mention...when I go to install IIS after method 2 and >> point to c:\winxp (and c:\winxp\i386) for the staxmen.dll (and all the >> others) I get the same error massege as it found STAXMEM.DL_ instead, so >> I figured it would error out on all the other files as well. >> >> Please HELP! >> >> Thanks >> >> "msnews.microsoft.com" <KennyGK(a)hotmail.com> wrote in message >> news:ereyFp0XGHA.4920(a)TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... >>> Ok, so I got the Microsoft SP2 CD, re-installed it, and tried to load >>> the IIS again, and end up with the same staxmem.dll et-cetera error >>> messages. >>> Then I ran the integrity test again, and the following is the result: >>> ***************************************************** >>> Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] >>> (C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp. >>> >>> C:\Documents and Settings\Ken>esentutl /g >>> c:\WINDOWS\security\database\secedit.s >>> db >>> >>> Microsoft(R) Windows(TM) Database Utilities >>> Version 5.1 >>> Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. hang on hang on. when it prompt you for staxmen.dll file, you should point it to the new path. c:\winxp\i386. does it run after that? if yes, then it is working. It required the staxmen.dl_ not the .dll file as it will uncompress the source file before copying it to your system. so my question is - does it went through the first file? staxmen.dl_ ?? if yes, then it is working. you just have to tell the system the new installation path. -- Regards, Bernard Cheah http://www.iis-resources.com/ http://www.iiswebcastseries.com/ http://msmvps.com/blogs/bernard/ "msnews.microsoft.com" <KennyGK(a)hotmail.com> wrote in message news:e6FBP29XGHA.3740(a)TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > Yes, when I go to install IIS after method 2 and point to the integrated > directory I created c:\winxp (and c:\winxp\i386) to find staxmen.dll (and > all the others) I get the same error massage as it found STAXMEM.DL_ > instead.
