From: JamesJ on 27 Jan 2010 07:39 I was under the impression that when I view Installed Updates the date(s) reflect when these updates were installed on my HD. Sorry PA, am I missing something? "Vista...with SP1" (AKA Vista SP1) wasn't released to manufacturing until 04 February 2008. The updates were included in/part of your Vista SP1 (OEM) installation CD. I bought this laptop in April 2004: It came with WinXP SP1 preinstalled but it has some updates & files with "installed" or "created on" dates going back to 2002. James "PA Bear [MS MVP]" <PABearMVP(a)gmail.com> wrote in message news:u8ISAtsnKHA.3164(a)TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... The updates were most likely preinstalled by the OEM before you purchased your computer (which, one assumes, was sometime after 20 Jan-08). When you reinstalled Windows, the updates were also reinstalled. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-IE, Mail, Security, Windows Client - since 2002 www.banthecheck.com "JamesJ" wrote: In checking my installed updates I have found that many were installed on 9/29/2009. This is correct because I formatted my HD and installed Vista Basic with SP1 on that date. But, I find that KB935509 and KB937287 are showing install dates of 1/20/2008. How can these 2 updates show install dates prior to the date I formatting my HD??
