From: Steven Cools on
for everyone out there experiencing the same issue (and not finding the
answers on the below mentioned citrix site)...
we finally fixed it too!

also had problems with some HP printers via Terminal Services, had the
"eventID 333 - source application popup" every 5 seconds and (foremost)
installing of msi based software and thus MS updates was very very very slow.

here's how to:
- deleted all printers first and then all printer drivers on the server
(especially the HP universal one) via "printers - file - server properties -
drivers - ...) - might require a reboot of the server or at least the print
spooler service (best before and after both deleting operations).

- compressed the registry with regcompact pro 2.6.7 (free)
(as one of our hives already was 100+ MB's and maximum registry size is
128MB, and actually even 102MB)
(i think this really was the main issue)

software and microsoft updates install with ease now!

(still have to reinstall the printers -including the HP universal- but i'm
quite sure the latest version will not cause these problems anymore (as the
posts below also mention)

regards,
Steven. (colleague of koen - see post below)
