The quad-port part, EXPI9404PTL, should also work with e1000g(7D).

E1G44ET based on the 82576 chipset should work with igb(7D).

Google Froogle finds both part numbers.

There's plenty of Sun x86 servers with Quad Ethernet.

Quad-port "core" LAN? The BL860c and BL870c Integrity Blades have
four "core" LAN ports. I think one or more of the "full height"
ProLiant Blades do as well. I'm not sure if any of the ProLiant
rack-mount servers do, but then HP does offer the NC364t PCI quad-port
GbE "standup" card for the rack-mount systems. (It also offers the
NC364m quad-port mezz card for blades)
