I think "Microsoft Security Essentials" will work in both, although I only use it on my XP machine.

I was using AVG Free antivirus until its latest version 9.xx, which totally hosed my Dell's internet and outlook connectivity. So I now use Avast Free antivirus and no problems so far. Also using ZoneAlarm Free firewall, better than Windows XP firewall. Also use and highly recommend, Malwarebytes free program, and SpyBot S&D for malware removal with weekly scans. Just make sure you are on the "Official Download" sites, because Google searches for these free programs turn up many virus and malware sites too. Of course YMMV, Pat |
